Tanjore Painting – The Meaning and History
Tanjore painting (Tamil: Temple Oviyum) occupies a special place in the history of Indian painting. South came in a state India's Tamil Nadu in a town called Tanjore or Thanjavur, also well known as the "rice bowl of Tamil Nadu." Thanjavur is famous for different types of arts and crafts, including Tanjore paintings are very appreciated. Tanjore painting was appreciated for its rich colors, the use of precious stones forests, mica, mirrors, ornaments, exotic media such as ivory, murals, and manuscripts. These paintings usually have a key figure, usually a god (gods Hindu, Sikh Gurus or saints) with body attractive and almond-shaped eyes. Tanjore Painting is painted on canvas, usually a plank of wood with a cloth pasted with gum arabic. Once the canvas is ready, the artists draw a detailed sketch of the photo. For a 3D effect, a paste of limestone and a binding medium is used, so the painter can decorate and embellish the theme using your skill and brush.
